Instructor: Shari Ogburn, Counselor

Did you know elementary counselors…
  • Teach classroom guidance lessons on a variety of topics based on academic, personal/social, and career domains?
  • Counsel individual students as needed and maintain confidentiality?
  • Work with small groups of children with similar concerns?
  • Consult with teachers and assist them in meeting individual student needs?
  • Coordinate referrals to school and community agencies?
  • Assist parents with resources?
The school counselor is available to all elementary students. Guidance and counseling programs, activities, and services focus on helping children experience healthy growth for future success. Please feel free to call me if you have concerns or questions. I am looking forward to an exciting school year!

School Based Agency Counseling
While I am here to offer counseling services to all students, there are times when a student needs more in-depth, individual counseling than I can offer. When this occurs, parents have the option of seeking outside counseling services from mental health professionals after school hours. However, we have a wonderful opportunity for these agencies to come into our school and serve our students during the school day.
School based counseling services are offered through 3 local agencies: Dayspring Behavioral Health Services of Rogers, Ozark Guidance Center, and Vista Health.

If you believe that your child would benefit from school based counseling services, feel free to contact me, or you may contact the agency directly.  The agencies and their website link are listed in my "Links".  Please note that each agency handles payment and insurance processing differently, so be sure to ask how each agency charges for their services.
School Social Worker
At Tucker we are blessed to have Pasty Roycroft as our building's licensed social worker.  Pasty helps many students and their families.  She is able to help families in need of housing, food, and clothing.  She also has a wealth of knowledge regarding insurance, food stamps, and social security.  If you would like to contact Pasty please call Tucker and ask for Shari Ogburn.  Since she is only in our buildings on Mondays, I will be able to help you set up an appointment to see Mrs. Roycroft.
